Try the new ButtonBass Drum Machine · This is the previous sequencer.
The ButtonBass Drum Machine is a free browser-based step sequencer that lets you create beats right in your browser — no download, no account, no cost. Program drum patterns across multiple channels, adjust tempo and swing, add reverb and delay, and record your session as an audio file.
Press Play to start the sequencer, then click any step button to toggle it on or off. Each row is a different drum sound — kick, snare, hi-hat, and more. Use the Styles button to load preset beat patterns, or hit the random button to generate a beat automatically. Adjust the Master, Swing, Reverb, and Delay knobs to shape your sound. Hit the Record button to capture your session and download it.
The drum machine includes a 16, 32 or 64-step sequencer with multiple channels, four pattern banks (A–D) you can chain into full song arrangements, per-hit velocity with ghost and accent hits, ratchet rolls of 2–4 repeats per step for trap-style hi-hats, adjustable tempo from 60 to 200 BPM, swing control for groove, reverb and delay effects with adjustable time, per-drum tuning, decay and pan, preset beat styles, undo and redo, custom sounds by uploading audio files or recording directly from your microphone, a saved-beat library and shareable links, full session recording, and WAV export as a seamless loop or as separate stems for each drum.
Drum machines have been central to music production since the 1970s. The Roland TR-808, released in 1980, defined the sound of hip-hop, R&B, and electronic music with its distinctive booming kick and snappy snare. Its successor the TR-909 became the backbone of house and techno. Today software sequencers bring that same creative power to anyone with a browser — free, instant, and endlessly flexible.
